Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Patty grew up a well-travelled "army brat." This was good training for a busy career in theatre that has taken her to Germany and across Canada before joining the Shaw Festival ensemble in 1994. Her years acting with the Shaw have provided a rich background for adapting classic stories such as Gaslight and The Three Musketeers. A two-time Dora Award nominee, Patty trained at the University of Winnipeg with Alan Williams (and the Rude Players) and is interested in the transformative nature of art. Patty holds a Masters of Education from Niagara University and has taught at the elementary, secondary and university level.
