Helen Becqué

Belgian pianist Helen Becqué gave her European début at the age of nine. She studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels as a student of Boyan Vodenitcharov and completed postgraduate study at the München Hochschule für Musik und Theater. A much-lauded concert pianist, Helen is a finalist and winner of many competitions, including the International Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart, the 'Das Lied' competition in Berlin, and the University of Toronto DMA competition.

Helen was nominated for a Juno in 2020, and has served as Music Director for OIC (Opera in Concert) and SOLT (Summer Opera Lyric Theatre). She continues to serve as a lecturer at the University of Toronto, where she completed her DMA under the tutelage of Steven Philcox.

Prior to this, Helen served as Korrepetitorin at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater NürnbergAugsburg, and was invited to the faculty of the University of Arkansas as a Collaborative artist from 2020-2022.
