Emily Seto-Hughes is a Toronto-based classical pianist, adjudicator, and teacher currently holding a faculty position at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is also a member of the Royal College of Examiners. Emily obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where she was the recipient of the Lloyd Bradshaw Prize, Nancy E. Hardy Music Education scholarship, Doreen Hall scholarship (2015 and 2017), Donna and Richard Holbrook scholarship, Arthur Edward Redsell scholarship, C. Lloyd Dobson Scholarship, and Richard Iorweth Thorman scholarship.
Emily went on to receive a fellowship from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music to complete her Masters degree. Emily is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Toronto, and has conducted research in the areas of community music and equitable practices in music studies.
Emily holds an ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, is certified in the Orff-Schulwerk method, and is a Certified Advanced Specialist in Piano through the Royal Conservatory. Emily is the recipient of the RBC Emerging Artists Award in Music Education and the Gunild Keetman Fund Scholarship.
