Woosol Cho currently resides in Toronto where she maintains a busy schedule of performer and teaching. As a teacher, her students have been accepted into renowned programs such as the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Ottawa Youth Orchestra, and have been offered full scholarships to post secondary institutions such the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario. In addition to her private teaching, Woosol has taught at the Preparatory Program at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston Texas.
Miss Cho teaches violin and viola both at the North York Suzuki School of Music and privately out of her home in Toronto. She has adjudicated throughout Ontario and is a recurring adjudicator at the prestigious Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in Hong Kong
As a performer, Woosol formerly held the position of Principal Viola of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra where she appeared as a featured soloist performing Paul Hindemith's Der Schwanendreher concerto for Viola and Orchestra. She has also performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Opera Company, the National Ballet of Canada, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, and as guest Principal Viola with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.
When not teaching or performing, Woosol works as the orchestra manager for the Brott Music Festival and the National Academy Orchestra or Canada, Canada's premier training orchestra. In this role, Woosol is responsible for helping to train Canada's most talented young musicians and works to prepare them for successful careers in the orchestral world.
Woosol received her Masters Degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and her prominent teachers have included Teng Li, James Dunham, and Rennie Regehr.
