Violinist Jillian Yang began her musical journey at an early age, earning her ARCT diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music before pursuing advanced studies in violin performance. She completed her Master of
Music in Performance and Literature at the University of Western Ontario under the mentorship of Annette
Barbara Vogel. During her time there, she appeared as a soloist with the Western Symphony Orchestra,
performing Paganini's Violin Concerto.

Symphony Orchestra, and Ontario Philharmonic. She completed a six-city tour in Brazil with Magisterra Soloists
and has appeared as guest concertmaster with the North York Concert Orchestra. She currently serves as Principal Second Violin with the Summerhill Orchestra in Toronto.

In addition to her work as a performer, Jillian is a passionate and experienced educator. She has taught at
institutions including the Forest City String School, London Youth Orchestra, Canadian Youth Chamber
Orchestra, and Western University Orchestra, and adjudicated at the Stratford Music Festival. She finds great joy
in teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, and is known for fostering discipline, confidence, and musical
expression.

An Advanced Specialist with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), Jillian's students consistently earn high marks in RCM exams and local festivals. In 2024, five of her students were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as
winners of a prestigious international competition. She presently teaches in Newmarket, Ontario, where she continues to nurture her students' full potential with care and expertise.

Jillian is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Western University. Outside of music, she enjoys spending time outdoors and playing tennis.
