The OMFA Provincial Finals was a week-long celebration of the hard work of the most talented young musicians Ontario, as well as a testament to the value of a supportive musical community. As a classical piano adjudicator, I had the pleasure of listening to and working with extremely gifted pianists who all performed with polish, focus, and maturity. Behind every young performer were highly dedicated parents and teachers, many of whom travelled with the competitors from far away to partake in the competition. The Provincial Finals was also a meeting place for passionate, brilliant adjudicators with whom I shared stimulating discussions while deliberating every result with utmost seriousness and integrity. Behind the scenes, numerous staff member and volunteers tended to every logistical detail with meticulousness and care. Not least, the success of the week is thanks to the brilliant minds on the OMFA leadership team who curated an educational experience beyond a competition to the benefit of every participant's holistic development, and worked tirelessly day and night from before the start and after the end of the competition week. It was a joy to have been a part of the OMFA Provincial Finals and I am grateful to every performer, parent, teacher, colleague, volunteer and staff for their immense inspiration.
