Musical Theatre - Adults



Ryan Kelly has been a professional singer, dancer and actor for over 30 years. He has performed all over the world in a wide variety of mediums. Some of Ryan’s favourite credits include: “Mamma Mia” (Mirvish) “The Normal Heart” (Studio 180/Dora Nom) “The House of MartinGuerre” (CanStage) “Avenue Q” (Citadel/Sterling Award) “Rocky Horror Show (Sudbury Theatre Centre) “Elf” (The Grand Theatre London) “Falsettos” (Winnipeg Jewish Theatre) “Living with Henry” (Off Broadway). Ryan has also performed in Daniel MacIvor’s one person show “Here Lies Henry”. 


He has had regular roles in television on “Queer As Folk” and “Bitten”, and guested on many others including “Law and Order; Criminal Intent”, “Cross”, “Murdoch Mysteries”, “Warehouse 13”, “Saving Hope” and “Reign”. Ryan was featured in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis” as well as having feature roles in the films “Serialized” and “Young Werther”. He has been nominated for a Genie Award, Canadian Comedy Award and nominated for 2 Dora Awards for Acting, taking home one for “Will the Real JT LeRoy Please Stand Up?”. He’s seen over 30 countries while performing on Cruise Ships and has been in over 30 television commercials.
 
Ryan has been also proudly worked in education and leadership capacities as well. He has been Drama Teacher at The Centre for Art and Soul, The Stage Door Academy, and Children’s Garden Nursery School. He has directed “The Secret Garden” and “Matilda” for Mainstage Theatre Company. Ryan is a frequent guest artist in many Secondary School scenarios and is Artist Educator for Studio 180’s Theatre Workshops. For the last 7 years Ryan has been Professor of Acting for the George Brown Dance Programme through Ballet Jorgen and has been a resident artist for Canadore College. Currently he is Director for the Music Theatre Ensemble Programme at Young People’s Theatre.
