Registration

Registration for the Provincials festival can now be done online.

To start, simply select your class from one of the categories below. Fill in the required details on the class form and then you can proceed to checkout. There, you’ll be asked to complete the registration and enter your payment details.

When registering, please note that accurate times are required. This helps ensure that scheduling can be done quickly and efficiently.

Also, if you are entering a class that requires an accompanist, please enter their name and information. Scheduling is dependant on accompanists. By not listing an accompanist, you must accept scheduling as is.

Brass

  • Two pieces must be performed at the Provincial Level:
    • The first piece must have been played at the local festival and received a minimum mark of 85
    • The second piece is own choice but must be at the same grade level as the first piece but may not be another movement of the work chosen as the first selection.
  • Competitors must refer carefully to either the RCM or CC syllabus to determine how many and which movements of a selection are required (i.e. one movement, two movements, or complete)
  • Memorization is optional, but strongly encouraged
  • Accompaniment must be live and by piano only

Chamber Groups

  • One or more movements from a selection that was performed at the local festival and received a minimum mark of 85.
  • The second selectionis own choice but may not be another movement of the work chosen as the first selection.
  • Memorization is not required.

Guitar

Piano

Voice

    • The first song must have been sung at the local festival and received a minimum mark of 85
    • The second and third selections are own choice but must be at the same grade level as the first selection.
  • Vocalise and stand-alone recitatives are not permitted.
  • Selections from the RCM Popular Selection List and the CC Idioms List, including musical theatre, popular (contemporary) and operatta pieces. are not permitted.
  • All pieces must be performed from memory. Piano accompaniment only.
  • Rules as listed above plus: It is strongly recommended that selections include an operatic and/or a sacred aria.
