Dr. Joseph Ferretti
Piano (Grades 8 – Open)
Dr. Joseph Ferretti has performed in Europe, Canada, and the USA as soloist and collaborative artist. Festival and series performances include the Canadian Opera Company’s Piano Virtuoso series, the Music Gallery, Barrie’s Colours of Music Festival, the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society, the Open Ears Festival, and numerous others.
He has also been heard with such ensembles as the KW Symphony and the Talisker Players, performs frequently as a member of the award-winning junctQín keyboard collective, and as a duo pianist with Elaine Lau, with whom he has recorded for Capstone Records.
Dr. Ferretti has taught piano at Wilfrid Laurier University since 2003. In addition, he served for six years as a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Joseph is active across Canada as a festival and competition adjudicator, and as a senior examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has presented workshops and lecture-recitals for such institutions as The Glenn Gould School, Mt. Allison University, and the CFMTA National Convention.
Dr. Ferretti received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder, and received his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
