Marcus Nance

Musical Theatre: Junior & Intermediate

Marcus Nance has been in the entertainment business for over thirty years. The New York Times describes him as, “a thrillingly powerful bass baritone” and the Toronto Star says he has “a stunning singing voice and commanding physical presence”.

His performance credits include Murdoch Mysteries, Departure, Mayday, Universal Picture’s feature film The Producers’, Jesus Christ Superstar and Baz Luhrmann’s La Boheme both on Broadway, NY City Centre Encores!, Chicago Opera Theatre, New York City Opera, Charlottetown Festival, NAC, Luminato Festival, The Grand Theatre, Toronto Jazz Festival, ten seasons at the Stratford Festival and two seasons at the Shaw Festival.

Marcus Nance has been nominated for a Dora Award for best performer in a musical for Atom Egoyan’s Elsewhereless and a Juno Award for Classical Album of the Year for Dark Star Requiem.

He received a bachelor of Arts in music and voice from California State University, Fresno and has done graduate work in voice at the University of Texas and the University of Illinois.
