Saeha Youn

Piano: Levels 3 and 4

Canadian pianist Saeha Youn has performed as a recitalist and a chamber musician throughout North America, Europe and Asia. She is a winner of numerous competitions and scholarship awards, including the Canadian Music Competition, MTNA, Kiwanis Music Festival, ALL TV Music Competition, Honam Art Festival among many others.

Saeha participated in the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado as a New Horizons fellow. During this time, she was given opportunity to teach private lessons and master classes through the Passes and Lessons Scholarship Program. As an artist teacher, she has worked with the San Francisco Conservatory’s Conservatory in the Schools program to support and provide music to the under-served music programs of the Bay Area. Her adjudicating experience includes the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association in Kowloon, Hong Kong, and Harmonia School of Music and Art in Vienna, Virginia among many others. Currently, she is on the faculty of the International School of Music in Bethesda, Maryland.

Born in South Korea, Saeha started piano lessons at the age of four. She holds degrees from The Taylor Academy for Young Artist at the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto and San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she obtained her Performance Diploma, Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. She is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Maryland. Her primary teachers have been Boris Lysenko, Marietta Orlov, Yoshikazu Nagai and Mayron Tsong.
